Japanese Camellia is a deciduous, medium sized deciduous shrub or small multi-stemmed tree. In late spring or early summer large, attractive, simple open flowers with yellow centres are produced. They can be easily mistaken for single flowered camellias. Leaves turn brilliant red, orange and yellow in autumn. Minimal maintenance required, but it can be pruned in winter.
