Latin Name: Silene noctiflora
Forestart Reference: SILNOC

Luminous white flowers open in the evening on fine waving stems. Flowers June to Sept.

An ancient species that looks like a very hairy White Campion. White flowers in summer to early autumn open in the evening and through-out the night, pollinated  by moths. The sticky hairs give the plant it's name. This is an annual of poor sandy soils, both cultivated and wasteland. It used to be common but is now no longer seen frequently. Sow any time of year.
