Latin Name: Plantago lanceolata
Forestart Reference: RIBPLA

Leafless stems carry compact heads of tiny brown flowers. The cream anthers are very prominent and wave in the slightest breeze.

Tough and adaptable rosettes of leathery, lance-shaped leaves, flattened if grazed but tall if in hay meadows. Flowers all summer, but the anthers are the showy part, rather than the petals which are virtually non-existant. Will establish easily, but not take over any site and is a must for as balanced sward.
