Cheerful early summer flowers, oversize daisies, white with yellow centres.

Also known as Dog Daisy, Moondaisy or Moonpenny. A very familiar perennial wildflower of roadsides, haymeadows and grassland. Rosettes of glossy leaves and long (60cm) flower stems produced in full sun. Nectar source for hoverflies, bees and butterflies. Masses of seed produced but it is not the first choice for seed eating birds so tends to be eaten off the ground through the winter. Often one of the first wildflowers to colonise an area naturally. Once used as a cure for chest problems.


Sow any time of year in prepared ground.
